The ‘Independence Day: Resurgence’ Trailer Has Come To Earth Early
It’s been almost 20 years since Independence Day came out and blew out brains our with the best special effects, Will Smith becoming a superstar, and countless movies trying to recreate the Summer blockbuster that was ID4. People will make fun of it for being silly because of jealousy, but it was awesome in theaters. Hundreds of fighter planes attacking a huge ship? COME ON!
Sure, an alien race being taken out by a computer virus from a primitive species? Madness! Oh, but then you read War of the Worlds and you shut your mouth.
Independence Day: Resurgence brings back most of the cast of Independence Day sans Will Smith because making the special effects look better is superior to building a 4 story trailer for actors that want 2/3 of the box office.
Premise: We always knew they were coming back. After INDEPENDENCE DAY redefined the event movie genre, the next epic chapter delivers global spectacle on an unimaginable scale. Using recovered alien technology, the nations of Earth have collaborated on an immense defense program to protect the planet. But nothing can prepare us for the aliens’ advanced and unprecedented force. Only the ingenuity of a few brave men and women can bring our world back from the brink of extinction.
Update: To go with the trailer, producers have put up the website War of 1996 to show the history between the two films. It’s actually quite impressive. It also explains what happens to Will Smith’s character.
Below is the trailer for Independence Day: Resurgence. I own the Blu-Ray and DVD of the first film.
