The Trailer For ‘Cloverfield 2’ Caught Everyone Off-Guard
From what we’re hearing over at Collider and Slash Film… J.J. Abrams just dropped a surprise on monster movie fans out of nowhere. The Cloverfield 2 trailer!
A load of people viewing the 13 Hours film — for some insane reason — said that a trailer was shown before it was titled 10 Cloverfield Lane.
A project that has long been rumored with Dan Trachtenberg — the filmmaker behind Portal: No Escape — now has an official title: 10 Cloverfield Lane. And yes, it’s a sequel to 2008’s Cloverfield. “The idea came up a long time ago during production. We wanted to make it a blood relative of Cloverfield. The idea was developed over time. We wanted to hold back the title for as long as possible.” Collider asked Paramount.
Is that John Goodman? He keeps taking on such different projects. Respect, Goodman.
The video seems to show a family that’s in a bunker and some were trying to escape. Cinematography? It doesn’t have that POV camera like it did in the 2008 film, but they didn’t say they wanted to film it differently? Yes. No one wants a rehash for the sequel. But, it seems they know what they’re doing by marketing it like this. If it wasn’t so effective, this wouldn’t have been written about. Expect people to be analyzing every frame.
