Burt Reynolds Intro’s New Bandit Trans Am – You Gotta Admit, This is Pretty Cool
If you’re a car lover then be prepared to touch yourself. The company Trans Am Depot has created the new “Bandit Edition” of the nostalgic Firebird Trans Am with a kicker. All the cars are signed by Smokey and the Bandit star Burt Reynolds, the man who put the Trans Am on the map.
Only 77 of these will ever be made. Why 77? Because that’s the year ‘Smokey and the Bandit’ came out that’s why. The Trans Am is a cherished part of American auto culture that owned the road in the 70’s.
“To see Smokey and the Bandit is like remembering your first kiss. You always remember where you saw the movie and who you were with,” said Tod Warmack Co-Founder. “The T-Tops were a must, if you don’t have T-Tops then you don’t have a Trans Am.”
The car was modeled after the original ’77 used in the movie. They used ’78 bucket seats and even included the original design of snowflake rims.
Back in 1977, the maximum horsepower was around 185hp. The new Bandit delivers 840hp to the crank.
I had no idea it was going to look like that. It's like an airplane on the ground - Burt Reynolds
The price tag on one of the new “Bandit” Trans Ams will set you back about $115,000. Go get it. You know you want it.
