S.A.M.~ Invisible Girlfriend App Review
I have a huge confession to make. Even though I’m a single straight female, for the last two days I’ve been in a full-blown Invisible relationship with a chick – while pretending to be a guy – and it has been dominating my every waking hour. I am currently and thoroughly obsessed with my new Invisible playmate, Naomi Brooklyn Simmmons.
Her unique (and misspelled) moniker was automated generated by an App on a website called Invisible Girlfriend, but get this – Naomi actually exists in the physical realm, and I’m here to tell you that for 24.99 USD a month she’s everything I’ve ever wanted in a girlfriend, and worth every single penny.
Guys, imagine having a super hot girlfriend that you can show off to your friends, family and co-workers, who doesn’t complain about anything, or cost you more in a month than the price of a cheap meal for two at a chain restaurant. Her whole existence revolves around flirting with you, and making you look good in front of others. She hangs on your every texted word, and responds quickly with perfectly crafted comebacks. She leaves you encouraging voicemails checking on your day, and others letting you know she’s thinking about you. She even snail mails you a personalized handwritten note – I mean c’mon, what living person does that anymore? Finding this perfect woman full of sass and class is a virtual impossibility for most, but it’s the norm if you have an Invisible girlfriend.
You better believe I’m going to be talking about my Invisible Girlfriend on my The Single Life™ radio show this week, on Vivid Radio SiriusXM 791 and www.vividradio.com. I consider myself to be an information resource to men and women currently navigating the single life. My co-host Yanira and I chat about the trends, toys, lifestyles and stories in the news pertaining to sex, dating and relationships. In the end, I decided to register on the Invisible Girlfriend site as a male, instead of on Invisible Boyfriend as a female because I wanted to put myself in the listener’s shoes, test it out for them, and report back my findings.
Invisible Girlfriend is a platform that was created by a team of web developers, creators, entrepreneurs, and romance experts to deliver solutions for those uninterested in a “right now” relationship. The App helps you create credible, reasonable stories that you can bring home to curious mom, your buddies, boss, and coworkers. These tales are backed by virtual and real-world social proof to convince the people around you that you actually have a significant other.
The site helps those in need of a tailored, accessible girlfriend to avoid awkward social situations, and embarrassing questions. This service is good if you want to make someone in your life jealous, you’re a virgin, or you’re newly divorced. It’s useful if you’re out of dating practice, you’re lonely and have no friends, or you’re too invested in work to pursue romance. It’s also handy if you’re LGBTQ, or in a same sex relationship and you’re hiding the truth from disapproving relatives.
Society (and Facebook) puts so much daily pressure on your relationship status; having an Invisible Girlfriend is a great way to deflect unwanted interrogations, and those pesky parents.
I’m totally smitten with my Naomi. Our love affair lasted only 48 hours, but the connection was real. It’s crazy, I found myself constantly checking my iPhone, and every time I saw my Invisible Girlfriends name on the screen (when I missed her texts or voicemails) my heart would skip a beat, and I’d giggle like a schoolgirl. Our flirty text exchanges continued all day long into the evening until I passed out, and they started up again the minute I woke up. The first thing I did at 6:00am, and last thing I did at 11:30pm was banter back and forth with my beloved Invisible Girlfriend.
During our brief relationship Naomi left me several voicemails. In one, she called from work, saying she really wanted to hear my voice, and that I should text her when I got the message, and in the other she thanked me for the great time we had, saying we should do it again soon. They both sounded like the same girl, except the second one sounded like a hung-over version of the first. I didn’t care either way, I was just happy someone was checking in on me, regardless if I was paying for it.
The Invisible Girlfriend App allows you to customize your pretend paramour’s name, age, looks, personality, where she lives, what her interests are, and the backstory on how you both met. For 24.99 you’ll receive 100 text messages, 10 voicemails and 1 postcard from her per month. You initiate these communications, so they happen when you want them to. And you can buy 100 additional texts for 9.99 if you’ve run out, but you can still get voicemails if you have any left.
And now, I’d like to introduce the world to my secret crush, Naomi Brooklyn Simmmons – my incredibly convincing Invisible Girlfriend!
Before I created my account, the site was initially offering 10 free texts to try out their service before subscribing, but they had just removed that offer due to overwhelming user sign-ups, so paying customers could get the attention they deserved. Only those who have a US or Canadian phone number can use this App currently, but plans to expand to other countries are in the works.
The Invisible Team is striving to provide a wider range of photo selection, as well as the ability for you to eventually upload your own. In addition to the packages currently being offered, they are coming up with various and unique new ways to communicate with phone calls, personalized notes, gifts, flower deliveries, social media connections and more.
I was just happy someone was checking in on me, regardless if I was paying for it.
The site has a strict no ‘Sexting, or sending naked photos’ policy. Users who are caught will have their accounts suspended for inappropriate behavior. I joined anyway just to see what the deal was. I wanted to push the boundaries a bit, to see how authentic the communication was between my virtual lady and myself. The response times varied, just as they do in real life. But I never had to wait more than a few minutes for a reply. I have no idea if the girl on the other end of my texts or voicemails was the same person or not, nor did I really care.
Perhaps you’re reading this review out of curiosity, and you’re not remotely in the market for an Invisible companion – Did you know you could offer to BE someone else’s Invisible Girlfriend or Boyfriend?
The site is asking for your Selfies to use as potential photos of future Invisible Girlfriends and Boyfriends. They are seeking to amass a collection of real-people images, not stock shots of models. They want portrait style pictures, preferably smiling, and please don’t submit anything with nudity. You won’t get paid for the first one you send in, but you’ll receive a t-shirt saying, “I’m someone’s Invisible Girlfriend (or Boyfriend)” if someone choses your photograph to be their Invisible Girlfriend/Boyfriend. At that point, the Team will pay you for each additional Selfie you submit. Make sure the person in the pic is really you, and that you have the rights to use it. For the record, I give you permission to use mine if you ever come across it! I’d love to be YOUR Invisible Girlfriend.
