The US Government Will Require Everybody To Register Their Drones
We love drones here at Social Underground. Whether it be showing you applications you haven’t thought of, or drones you never knew existed, we’re pretty pro-drone. But, we also have to take a step back and warn you of the problems with drones. The thing is, drones are widely available and can cause panic in the skies, so the US government will require you to potentially register your drone by this holiday season.
There’s little doubt about why this is being implemented. Multiple drones have landed on the White House lawn in the past year, and that seems like a pretty obvious response from officials as a way to keep track of who owns a drone incase it’s used for some devious purposes.
As with any new legislation, you can expect a multitude of problems that come with this: Registering new drones, old drones, deeming which drone is the most dangerous, flight standards, flight restrictions, special licensing, background checks, and potentially even getting denied the ability to buy a drone. Who knows? Until the Department of Transportation officially tells us its plan, we’ll all just have to use personal responsibility when flying our drones.
