Not Underground: James Deen Accused Of Rape By Stoya Controversy
On November 28th, Stoya, famous porn star and ex-girlfriend of arguably the most famous male porn star, James Deen, was called out on Twitter with accusations of rape.
That thing where you log in to the internet for a second and see people idolizing the guy who raped you as a feminist. That thing sucks.

James Deen held me down and fucked me while I said no, stop, used my safeword. I just can’t nod and smile when people bring him up anymore. — Stoya (@stoya) November 28, 2015
If true, this could be incredibly damaging to Deen. Deen has been one of the most vocal people in porn to the point that people labeled him a feminist. Everything that I have read about him made him seem like the nicest guy in the industry, but when you throw rape accusations at someone, you had better make sure that you can back it up. This is where it gets difficult. When Stoya posted this accusation, it wasn’t taken to the police — as far as we know — it was posted on social media. And with that posting came this from November 17th:
I’ll be mostly offline till 17 Dec. For work. While I’m gone please consider enjoying https://t.co/DJjyrvyTpG and https://t.co/C5vg23wmuj — Stoya (@stoya) November 17, 2015
There have been some egregious claims made against me on social media — James Deen (@JamesDeen) November 30, 2015
I want to assure my friends, fans and colleagues that these allegations are both false and defamatory — James Deen (@JamesDeen) November 30, 2015
I respect women and I know and respect limits both professionally and privately — James Deen (@JamesDeen) November 30, 2015
You have my support @stoya . I’m here for you . https://t.co/KQZzHVIwcP — Joanna Angel (@JoannaAngel) November 28, 2015
If six women say it, does it stop being defamatory and start being a conspiracy, or at that point is it just true? — Kayden Kross (@Kayden_Kross) November 30, 2015

The more smoke there is, the more evidence that there’s a fire. But again, these are only accusations at this point, and condemning Deen before we know more is pretty harsh until more comes out. Siding with Stoya right now is probably the safest bet because it takes one really terrible person to accuse someone of rape in the public forum. If there was no sexual assault and she just did this to get back at him (after all, her most recent sex video on her website is with him), then the punishment he would face should be doubled against her.
If you go on to Deen’s Twitter, read his statement, click to see the comments, you will see that the internet has pretty much decided he’s guilty, and the hashtag “#istandwithstoya.” If she was assaulted, the first thing she should’ve done is go to the police. But again, being a victim means you might be too afraid to do that because sometimes victims blames themselves. What you don’t want to do is throw accusations on social media. It doesn’t serve any purpose other than to cause havoc on the internet. However, there are signs to James Deen being quite the strange one.
Check out this recent pics on his Instagram:
Not sure comparing yourself to Ted Bundy is the smartest move. But that doesn’t really mean anything either. I probably would’ve laughed if it werent for the allegations. Most of his pictures are run of the mill Instagram photos that include food pictures, his cat, and traveling photos. Nothing out of the ordinary. There are two sides to this story: I’m pretty sure women reading this might be pissed off because I’m not condemning him already. Others are probably thinking that there’s not much to go off except for a few tweets.
As a man, one of the most terrifying things I could possibly think of happening is being accused of rape. I would never in a million years EVER consider any type of abuse on a woman, but the moment a man is accused of rape, his life is over. Even if the guy is 100% innocent, is proved in a court of being innocent, the woman takes back her statements, and he is free to go, his life is always tied to “rape.” Hell, I can’t even think of Lacrosse anymore without think of that team that was accused of rape, but they were innocent. That stuff sticks to you for life. So, if Deen did do this to Stoya and other women, throw his ass in jail. If he didn’t, well, the damage is already done. There are no winners here.
