Meet The Team Building The Hyperloop
Back in 2014 we announced that the Hyperloop designed by SpaceX’s CEO Elon Musk is becoming a reality. Now in 2016 it’s actually being built on a large scale. It’s happening.
The Goal: To get passengers from Los Angeles to San Francisco in 30-35 minutes. The normal travel time is approximately six hours.
The team at Hyperloop Tech are conducting strenuous tests at their Hyperloop facility in Downtown Los Angeles.

Musk brought attention to the conceptual high-speed transportation system incorporating reduced-pressure tubes in which pressurized capsules ride on an air cushion driven by linear induction motors and air compressors back in August 2013.
Hyperloop technology has been explicitly open-sourced by Musk and SpaceX, and others have been encouraged to take the ideas and further develop them. To that end, several companies have been formed, and tens of interdisciplinary student-led teams are working to advance the technology.
