Japan’s Ditching Phones For The RoBoHon Robot
Japanese electronics manufacturer SHARP is taking mobile in an entirely new direction with the new Robohon Robot phone. They’re ditching the big screens and traditional style of a phone’s operating system and putting it all in a cute somewhat little robot. This isn’t really a smart phone, it’s more like a smart companion.
Robohon is super adorable, and it’s also full of apps and features. With a built in projector, moving arms and legs, WI-FI, LTE and can do all the things Siri does like make your calls, and read your texts and emails to you and even take your memo’s. There’s also facial recognition and voice recognition built in so you only you can command it. Robohon’s official weight and size is not small or light. It’s 390 grams in weight and 19.5cm tall. (that’s around eight inches). There’s also a small 320×240 screen on its back.
I think my favorite feature is that it raises its arms when it’s got something to tell you. Like every elementary school teacher it gives you immediate power.
Most smart phones come with all of these features, but they are not in a robot.
