Be Amazed By This Supercut Of The SpaceX Falcon 9’s Development And Success
As you may have heard, SpaceX Falcon 9 successfully landed on a floating platform in the ocean. When you watch it happen, it almost looks like the video is playing the liftoff of a rocket in reverse. But just think of it: SpaceX launched a rocket into space, unloaded some stuff, the remaining part of the rocket came back down to the Earth and lands on a little platform in the ocean.
The sheer amount of math, science, ingenuity and planning makes this an amazing feat for humanity and space travel. Not to mention that, but being able to reuse a rocket and save millions of dollars on making whole new one is something that appeals to penny-pinching politicians.
Seriously, the rocket isn’t small, but HUGE. And this gif makes it looks so simple.
I watched every landing and every failure live. Every time the Falcon was due to land and then crashed, you could feel that sadness fill in every one of the people involved as it exploded. However, the moment is successfully landed for the first time, all of that went away. Everyone hugged and celebrated because all those failures were erased. Watch all of those failures finally result in success in this fantastic supercut below. Huzzah for science!
