Ever since Tupac died, the rap world has lacked that certain level of talent that accompanied his music. Sure, we have Eminem and a few others, but Tupac managed to be a thug, an actor, a poet, a musician, and many other things he could put on his resume. He could write a beautiful story into his lyrics or be threatening to his enemies when he decided to pick up the microphone. Tupac’s death was the end of an era with gangster rap had some of the best music of the genre. Sadly, rappers now go on TV to get slimed at the Nickelodeon’s Kid’s Choice Awards.
Premise:All Eyez on Me will focus on the career of Tupac Shakur all the way to the fatal drive-by shooting in Las Vegas in 1996.
All Eyez on Me, which was revealed Thursday, would have been the West Coast rapper’s 45th birthday. From the footage in the trailer, it seems to hit the nail on the head with its portrayal and look of Tupac. The film stars Demetrius Shipp, Jr. as Tupac Shakur, Danai Gurira, Jamal Woolard, Kat Graham, Lauren Cohan, Jamie Hector, and Annie Ilonzeh. Check out the trailer below.
