Italian Researchers: Pasta Won’t Make You Gain Weight
Great news for all Italian food lovers. There’s a new study that was conducted recently that finds Pasta is not the weigh-gaining carb it’s known for.
Pasta is not fattening and can reduce the likelihood of obesity, Italian scientists have found. Two studies, examining the diets of over 23,000 Italians, found pasta consumption was associated with a lower prevalence of obesity and a healthy BMI.
”We have seen that consumption of pasta, contrary to what many think is not associated with an increase in body weight
said lead author of the paper George Pounis, explained in a press release “On the contrary: Our data shows that eating pasta contributes to a healthier body mass index, lower waist circumference and better waist-hip ratio.”
Amen to that.
