Nasa ends year-long simulation releasing the 6 volunteers from “Mars”

A team of six volunteers have completed a Mars simulation in a dome on top of a volcano in Hawaii, where they lived in isolation for a year. Since the 29th of August 2015, the group lived in the dome, wearing space-suits when outside, without fresh food, fresh air, or privacy.

To prepare for a potential mission in the 2030s, researchers wanted to study the effects of a potential trip to Mars would have on the human mind. The test a success given what the crew members said once they emerged.
