If You Can’t Appreciate Corey Feldman’s “TODAY Show” Performance, You Might Be Vapid
Recently, Corey Feldman introduced his new band, Corey’s Angel’s and performed a song off their album, Angelic to the Core called, “Go 4 It.” And then, Corey did just that. He went for the performance of a lifetime, playing live in front of the “Today Show” studio cameras and essentially in front of the world as his performance has since been viewed multiple times online. Video of the live act went viral primarily due to internet junkies pleasuring themselves with 124 characters of ridicule. Each tweet and comment trying to outwit the next with shock of Corey’s attempt to entertain the masses. Then there were the paid online writers of the world that equally participated in offering ghastly reviews. But I say, what a bunch of dull conformists those who mocked him are.
If you listened to the song, it probably left you singing the phrase “Go 4 It” in your head for at least a few minutes after, because it was undeniably catchy. Corey and his backup singers all sang live, which in today’s world is a menial task many celebrity pop artists leave for contestants on “The Voice” to tackle. The song also features some pretty decent lyrics, that if I can try to decipher all the way through, I would better defend. The point is, they had a gimmick. They showed up. They played their instruments well, and they bravely put their art out into the world.
If you can’t recall a time you were nervous yet proud of your own work, your own conception, a piece of your heart that you desperately wanted people to love but at the very least appreciate, then you should kindly take your fingers off your phone and go make something good. Go 4 it.
