Sir Patrick Stewart, best known for his roles in “X-Men” and “Star Trek,” recently admitted to using marijuana daily to ease the symptoms of his arthritis. “Two years ago, in Los Angeles, I was examined by a doctor and given a note which gave me legal permission to purchase, from a registered outlet, cannabis-based products, which I was advised might help the ortho-arthritis in both my hands,” Stewart told The Telegraph.

Stewart uses cannabis-oil and sprays directly on his joints, saying that they have “significantly reduced the stiffness and pain” in his hands. The quotes come as part of Stewart enduring the U.K.’s first program regarding the medicinal effects of cannabis-based products, which are currently illegal in the country.
