Warner Bros. to use virtual reality for new Steven Spielberg movie

Warner Bros. is teaming up with HTC’s Vive to produce virtual reality content for their upcoming movies. The film company is experimenting with the VR technology for the Steven Spielberg movie, “Ready Player One,” which will be released on March 30, 2018.

HTC’s Vive plans to bring content inspired by the movie to its Viveport Arcade platform for location-based entertainment. This is the second attempt by Warner Bros. to bring VR content to movies. The first attempt was recreating scenes from “Suicide Squad” using the Samsung Gear VR.
