Panera will hire 10,000 employees this year
Panera is expected to create 10,000 new jobs by the end of the year as they expand their delivery service. According to Panera President Blaine Hurst, 75 percent of the new employees will be delivery drivers while 25 percent will be working in the cafe.
“In many places across the country, all that’s available for delivery is pizza or Chinese food. We’re closing the gap in delivery alternatives and creating a way for people to have more options for real food delivered to their homes and workplaces.” Panera CEO and Founder Ron Shaich.

The fast food cafe expects their delivery system will add $250,000 per year to the store’s annual revenue of $2.6 million. Panera Bread’s goal is to incorporate the delivery system in 35-40 percent of its stores by the end of 2017.
