Elon Musk: Reveals His Concept For Underground Transportation
Elon Musk is practically the Tony Stark of our times. Every idea he has gets a truckload of money poured all over it because it’s new and could change the world.
This time, Musk has unveiled his new company called The Boring Company. No, it’s not a company that forces you to watch old soap operas with your granny, but a company that’s an infrastructure and tunneling company. You know that huge drill in in Ocean’s 13 that caused the earthquake? Yeah, me either.

What Musk wants to do is make increase tunneling speed enough to the point that establishing an underground network of tunnels is financially feasible. Instead of being stuck in gridlock traffic in L.A. for hours, you can just take the tunnel that is below the ground. You may be a bit claustrophobic, but at least you can drive 30 miles in way less than the 2 hours that you’re used to.
The video provided from The Boring Company shows a not too distant future where a car can disappear below the road, latch onto a platform, and sail around 124 mph below the ground to a destination a lot faster than most drivers on the road are used to. It seems Musk might be trying to merge his Hyperloop and his tunneling idea into a similar result. Meanwhile, I’ll be losing my mind in traffic.
