Adobe is finally killing off its Flash plugin, the company announced in a blog post on Tuesday.
“We will stop updating and distributing the Flash Player at the end of 2020 and encourage content creators to migrate any existing Flash content to these new open formats.” Explained an Adobe spokesperson.

Flash was launched in the mid-1990s, to make it possible for video and other interactive content to be played on any browser. Adobe’s decision isn’t surprising. HTML5 standards have been implemented across all modern web browsers. In 2010, Steve Jobs accused the software of what he called “major technical drawbacks” and refused to allow it on to Apple’s iPhone and iPad.
