The World’s First Holographic Phone Is Coming
It seems that nearly every movie made with a futuristic element in it includes holograms. Can you remember any film in the Marvel universe without Tony Stark taking out his smartphone and shining some holographic schematic? Me either.
Holographic tech is so ubiquitous in film and television that we have to wonder where the technology is? Well, wonder no more. The world’s first holographic phone is coming.
RED, a company that makes professional digital cameras for filming Hollywood movies… is releasing a holographic phone called the Hydrogen. “The phone will offer professional hydrogen holographic display, which seamlessly switches between traditional 2D content, 3D content, and interactive games.”

The 5.7-inch “media machine” will run on an Android operating system. Pre-orders are available in two tiers: $1,595 for the “Titanium” high-end version… and $1,195 for the “Aluminum” slightly lower-end version. The phone ships in early 2018.
