Netflix’s First Full Trailer For ‘The Punisher’ Delivers The Action
When it comes to good comic book television, I think Netflix has found the formula for making great, entertaining content. Most of the Marvel shows on Netflix have been great minus Iron Fist. That was a blunder on the entire franchise that hits harder than, well, the Iron Fist. But Marvel is back on Netflix with one of its most famous characters: The Punisher.
One of the best parts of season two of Daredevil was that of Jon Bernthal’s version of The Punisher. He was nothing less than, and I hope you forgive me for this, punishing. He saw people killing or hurting someone and he pointed his endless arsenal at them with almost no remorse. It’s only after the season progressed that we found out more about him. He went from villain to anti-hero to ally through the course of the show. Now we get to see his origin.
Premise: After exacting revenge on those responsible for the death of his wife and children, Frank Castle uncovers a conspiracy that runs far deeper than New York’s criminal underworld.
Beyond what we’ve seen in Daredevil, we’ve yet to see a quality version of a standalone version of The Punisher. I’m fairly confident, judging from the trailer, that this will be the version we’ve been waiting to see. Marvel’s The Punisher premieres later in 2017, only on Netflix.
