Karate Kid Stars Ralph Macchio And William Zabka Team Up For ‘Cobra Kai’
The Karate Kid is a classic film from the 80s. It taught kids that you don’t have to take BS from bullies, and also that Pat Morita could kick anyone’s ass in a flash. Morita has passed on, but Ralph Macchio And William Zabka want to continue the legacy of the film series in a new TV series.
Danny LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence were the ultimate enemies in the original film, and spoiler alert, Lawrence got a crane kick to the face. Fight over. However, in this new series on YouTube Red titled Cobra Kai, it will pick up 30 years after the famous All Valley Tournament.

Both will reprise their roles in the series, which will see Danny running a successful car dealership, and Johnny is an alcoholic doing random jobs to make a living. Johnny will soon re-open the Cobra Kai Dojo and the events will follow from there.
It’s okay to be skeptical about this series, but I will remind you of the Jackie Chan one with Will Smith’s kid, so it can’t be that bad.
The series will also star Courtney Henggeler as Danny’s wife Amanda, Mary Mouser as their daughter Samantha, and Ed Asner as Johnny’s father.
Hot Tub Time Machine’s Josh Heald and Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg, who wrote Harold and Kumar. So, they’re definitely taking the comedic angle.
