The First ‘Pacific Rim: Uprising’ Trailer Is Full Of Kaiju Action
A few years ago when Pacific Rim came out, I was surprised that Hollywood put so much into Guillermo del Toro’s vision of huge robots fighting monsters from a portal in the ocean. Then I remembered that everyone loves huge robots fighting monsters in the sea, and I immediately went and saw the film. Unlike other such movies, the sense of scale with the robots and monsters was so real that it actually looked like they were fighting each other. Also, one robot it a monster with a freighter. That was just good watchin.
Now, we finally get to see what Pacific Rim: Uprising has to offer. I’m already pumped because it looks like there will be epic fights in broad daylight. Finally!
Premise: Jake has since abandoned his training only to become caught up in a criminal underworld. But when an even more unstoppable threat is unleashed to tear through our cities and bring the world to its knees, he is given one last chance to live up to his father’s legacy by his estranged sister, Mako Mori (Rinko Kikuchi) — who is leading a brave new generation of pilots that have grown up in the shadow of war. As they seek justice for the fallen, their only hope is to unite together in a global uprising against the forces of extinction.
The premise looks good, and the trailer looks, well, watch below and get goosebumps like I did. Pacific Rim: Uprising is scheduled to be released on March 23, 2018.
