BMW Gears Up to Sell Half a Million Electric Cars by 2019

The German automaker started mass-producing electric cars in September and plan to have at least 12 fully electric models come 2025, according to Reuters. The i3 hatchback was BMW’s first electric car back in 2013, but it did not prove lucrative.

But now, the carmaker is trying again with plans to sell at least 100,000 fully electric cars this year alone. BMW would continue manufacturing cars with combustion engines to help financially transition to electric.
