The band’s publicist confirmed O’Riordan’s passing in a brief statement. “Irish and international singer Dolores O’Riordan has died suddenly in London today. She was 46 years old. The lead singer with the Irish band The Cranberries was in London for a short recording session.” No further details are available at this time.
The Cranberries sold over 40 million records worldwide since releasing their first album in 1993. The band went on hiatus in 2003, but regrouped in 2009, and released the album “Roses” in 2012.
