‘The Mountain’ From ‘Game of Thrones’ is Officially the World’s Strongest Man
Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson, who plays Gregor Clegane (a.k.a. “The Mountain”) in ‘Game of Thrones’, won the annual World’s Strongest Man competition in the Philippines on Sunday. The 29-year-old from Iceland had previously finished in either second or third over the past six years.
Earlier this year, Björnsson won Arnold Strongman Classic and Europe’s Strongest Man competitions, making him the first person to sweep all three competitions. With the next season of ‘Game of Thrones’ not set to air until 2019, Björnsson probably has time to win a few more competitions before going back to filming.
