Claire Foy As Lisbeth Salander Shines In The First Trailer For ‘The Girl In The Spider’s Web’
A few years back, David Fincher (Fight Club, Panic Room) attempted to bring The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo to English audiences. It was a fantastic movie, but what it lacked was people going to see it in theaters. This led to all sequels being scrapped. You could always go and see the original trilogy with Noomi Rapace as the eponymous Lisbeth Salander, which I suggest doing to really getting to know the character before this film.
Premise: Computer hacker Lisbeth Salander (Claire Foy) and journalist Mikael Blomkvist (Sverrir Gudnason) find themselves caught in a web of spies, cyber criminals and corrupt government officials.
A major theme in the books and other films based on them is sexual violence. So, if you want to see some pretty disturbing images, I’m fairly certain that this movie will be full of them. What will hopefully offset that type violence in the film is what makes Salander an amazing character — If you are a man who thinks it’s okay to do horrible things to women, she will come after you. It seems that in this film, she didn’t help someone as much as she could have.
The Girl In The Spider’s Web arrives in theaters on November 9.
