The Top 5 Famous Rugby Players In The National Rugby League (NRL)
Football — or soccer as it’s known in America — is by far the most popular sport on the planet. While all that running back and forth is entertaining, wouldn’t it be a lot more fun if all the players on the feel look as if they could throw a motorcycle? Not only that, but wouldn’t be better if the players could tackle each other as well? That’s a sport called Rugby — the best sport that combines both football and American Gridiron (American football). Welcome to the NRL (National Rugby League).
Since you may not know much about the sport other than what you may have seen in the movies, you may want to start with some of the most players in the game. This is beneficial in branching out and getting to know teams and how the game works.
Johnathan Thurston (North Queensland Cowboys)
Thurston could very well be one of the best Rugby players to have graced the field. Though he recently had a season ending setback where he injured his shoulder in the 2017, he doesn’t let any injury keep him down.
Cameron Smith (Melbourne Storm)
Yet another one of the best and most famous players in the NRL is Cameron Smith. Smith is considered to be one of the best Rugby players of all time, and he most recently received the Dally M Medal as the NRL’s player of the year in 2017. Being that he’s one of the best ever (since retired), and was part of the team that won the championship last year, heading to the NRL betting sites wouldn’t be a bad idea for the 2018 season of the Melbourne Storm.
Cooper Cronk (Sydney Roosters)
The pressure on Cronk to have a stellar 2018 season is immense. Being a famous Rugby player may not be all that it’s cracked up to be when everyone is counting on you. This is major since he recently got married and left the dominant Melbourne Storm for the Roosters this year.
Billy Slater (Melbourne Storm)
Another incredible athlete who will hang it up at the end of the 2018 — Billy Slater has led a fantastic career in the NRL as a member of, you guessed it, the Melbourne Storm club. As alluded to above, this team might be worth spending a few pieces of silver on if you know any sites to bet on the NRL.
James Maloney (Penrith Panthers)
Maloney is a player who knows how to win. There are many players talked about in the NRL this year, but Maloney’s name is up with great expectations. He has been known to take a team he recently joined to the finals on multiple occasions.
