Firefly² Takes Vaping to New Heights
If James Bond vaped, he’d have a Firefly². Versatile, elegant and powerful, one can easily picture 007 pulling this out of his tuxedo in order to medicate after a particularly taxing mission. 33% lighter, 55% smaller, faster (lights up in 3 seconds), and more powerful (topping out at 500F for concentrates), the sequel to the Firefly is an improvement on every level over the original.
For those not familiar with the Firefly, it is a portable convection-heated vaporizer. Convection-heated meaning heat passes through the material thus creating flavorful vapor. Like the Volcano but in your pocket. For this long-time cannabis consumer, besides a good old-fashioned hand rolled joint, there is no better way to fully enjoy flower or concentrate than the Firefly. That is until the Firefly² came out.
If I had any issues with the original, it was weight and battery life. It was a bit heavy to truly be a portable vape. If I took it with me for a night on the town, I’d know I had a Firefly in my pocket the whole time. For a wearer of fitted clothing, it wasn’t ideal. Battery life was also an issue. When the Firefly came out on the town, it wouldn’t last all night if I was in a group. The Firefly² has fixed those problems, added some creative and useful new features all while maintaining what was beautiful about the original.
”Pure flavor is the hallmark of Firefly Vapor products
How has it changed? “In the ways fans of the original had hoped and asked for,” co-founder Mark Williams told me on a recent visit to Firefly headquarters.
Quality and customer satisfaction are tenants of the Firefly Vapor ethos. Co-founders Mark Williams and Sasha Robinson created their products to look and work beautifully. But they also built them to last. In the delivery of their product, they are looking to continue their two-way relationship with their customers. The Firefly² retails at $329.95 but it’s money well spent on a high-quality product. You’ll see what I mean when you unpack your Firefly² which comes with 3 concentrate pads, an extra battery, a charging dock with one of those cool new flat USB 3.0 cables, and a cleaning kit.
Made with a borosilicate glass bowl and a magnesium alloy chassis, Firefly² is 33% smaller and 55% lighter than the original. In specifics, it’s 140 grams and 5″ x 1.6″ x 0.8″. As with the original, when activated, the bowl glows orange which is visible in the front. The higher the temp, the deeper the glow. I’m telling you, on a darkened dancefloor, it’s the bizness.
The Firefly² is activated by two touch sensors on either side of the body. A green indicator light blinks and then goes solid when you’ve successfully activated the device. This new feature is customizable.
Pure flavor is the hallmark of Firefly Vapor products. From the first pull, you simply taste your tobacco, cannabis or concentrate in a way you’ve never before. The first time I tried a Firefly, I felt like I was actually tasting cannabis for the first time. Smooth and flavorful, the draw on the Firefly² is superb for either flower or concentrate.
