The Underground — Issue #77
Everything you need to know about in this weekly: Batman v Superman returns with an extended cut, the Universe explained in 4 minutes, a terrorist with a lot of weapons gets owned by the Ukrainian police, and Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee returns for an 8th season.
At Social Underground we go beyond the mainstream stuff and see what’s underneath the surface. What should we get into, listen to, read, eat or watch? If there is something in our culture that needs attention that’s our job: Show you the underground things that you need to know about: Books, music, television, movies, comedians, art, and whatever else we can find to get you into something you never knew about. That’s The Underground.
1. The Batman V Superman ultimate edition looks pretty good. When I saw the movie in theaters, I walked out wondering if I could get my money back. It felt like a comic book movie made by people who’ve never opened up a comic book. The entire thing was off and felt like someone took out parts of the movie for no reason. Now, we are getting a new R-rated edition with 30 minutes of extra footage. Will it be good? Maybe. Is it worth checking out? Yes. With Zack Snyder, his extended editions seem to be the version that he wanted to put out, but the studio gets in the way.

2. Watch how the Universe began in only 4 minutes. If you think you’re a big deal, just look at the size of the Earth. After that, look that the size of the solar system, the size of the local group of stars, the Milky Way, and then get over yourself. The Universe is huge. There is nothing of size that is comparable to it because it’s the biggest thing imaginable. If you watch a show like Star Trek, you’ll notice that they never even leave our galaxy. Even with a fictional device made to travel faster than light, they still never leave the Milky Way because it’s so huge! There are millions of galaxy’s out there and we haven’t even traveled past the moon.
Below is the quick history of the Universe that we live in. Remember to turn on the news after watching this to remind yourself that nothing on the news actually matters. We’re all just little beings fighting each other on a piece of space dust.
3. Watch solid police work in action when they take down this terrorist. Being a terrorist is pretty much the worst thing you can be besides being a fan of Nickelback. When you’re a terrorist, you try to be under the radar while planning your evil stuff based off of being brainwashed to do it. This terrorist has a HUGE amount of weapons, bombs, and stuff I can’t even identify. The problem with his plan was that he spent so much time getting it all ready for his attack that he never took a minute to look around and notice the police had covered his entire place with cameras to watch him. Seriously, there must have been a Ukrainian guy watching the footage and laughing (The attack was planned to hit Jews and Muslims during Euro 2016 by a Frenchman in Ukraine).
You can’t see stupidity as amazing as this when you have the mindset of someone who wants to kill. You can almost hear the people arresting him laughing their asses off while they do it. The sad thing is the amount of stuff he actually had. Hell, there were anti-tank missiles in there. If this dummy can get all this, imagine if someone smart could do it. That’s a bad thing, but watching this idiot get busted is pretty damn great. Huzzah, police!
4. Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee returned with celebrities and Cosby jokes. Jerry Seinfeld has been mostly silent since he ended the massively successful show that was named after him. However, he has had another success with his show which is basically him driving around and then sitting down and having coffee with comedians and celebrities. I mostly skipped the show on Crackle because I just did. No reason behind it, but then I saw that Bill Burr was on an episode, and that was the time I fell in love… with the show, not Burr… okay, maybe both.
Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee shows off cool cars, hilarious comedy, and personal stories. I don’t know how Seinfeld will top his episode with President Obama, but the trailer below looks like it will feature some great segments. Guests include Lorne Michaels, Margaret Cho, Jim Gaffigan, John Oliver, and JB Smoove. I look forward to seeing John Oliver and Seinfeld playing off each other.
New episodes hit Crackle on June 16th. Check out the trailer below:
