Tom Hardy Is ‘Venom’ In The First Trailer That All Comic Book Fans Have Been Waiting For
Venom was always one of the coolest villains/anti-heroes in the comics. When we first got a taste of him in live-action, he was shoehorned into a stuffed, terrible mess that became Spider-Man 3. Who was he played by? Foreman from That 70’s Show? He’s about as intimidating as someone trying to beat me up with a flower they stole from a funeral home.

Thankfully, Tom Hardy is stepping into the role and Eddie Brock/Venom in the much anticipated new film. There’s basically no wrong that Hardy can do at this point in his career. He beat up Batman, saved 400,000 troops in Dunkirk, and brought back Mad Max in one of the best films with barely any dialogue in the action/chase genre.
Premise: One of Marvel’s most enigmatic, complex and badass characters comes to the big screen, starring Academy Award® nominated actor Tom Hardy as the lethal protector Venom.
I’m still a little reluctant to get on board with this film. Whenever Sony is involved in making a superhero film, I am never really on board because of their past. The last rebooted Spider-Man franchise was wrong on just about every level. It screamed to me that those two films were made solely to keep the rights to our favorite webslinger. But this one is different. It seems everyone involved really wants to get it right.
Check out the new trailer to Venom below. Venom is set to be released in the United States on October 5, 2018.
